Is tallow safe for eczema or dermatitis?
Tallow can be a supportive option for people with eczema and psoriasis, particularly where these are linked to a compromised skin barrier. Grass-fed organic tallow is rich in fatty acids such as oleic, palmitic and stearic acid, which closely resemble the skin's own natural oils. Anecdotally, and in some emerging research on skin-barrier lipids, this kind of fatty acid profile is associated with a more comfortable, better-supported barrier.
Will this irritate reactive skin?
Our formulas are deliberately simple: certified organic tallow and whole botanicals, and nothing your skin has to fight against. If your skin tends to react to fragrance or synthetic fillers, that's exactly what we've left out.
How do I patch test?
Apply a small amount to a discreet area of skin, such as the inner forearm, and wait 24 hours before using more broadly. This is good practice with any new skincare product, tallow included.
What if I'm sensitive to bi-carb?
Our deodorant paste comes in a bi-carb-free option, made with diatomaceous earth instead, for anyone whose skin reacts to bi-carb.
