Sēlkyn Tallow was born in the lush hinterland of Byron Bay, on Bundjalung country, where nature’s wild beauty inspires everything we create. As a woman-owned small business, Sēlkyn Tallow is a luxury tallow balm, made by hand, in small batches, using only organic, grass-fed tallow and botanicals.

What started as a personal journey over 20 years ago — making herbal remedies and natural skincare for my family — has now grown into a brand that shares the same wisdom and purity with women everywhere.

My Story

 

I’m Anki – Mother, Grandmother, and the heart behind Sēlkyn Tallow.

For over 20 years, I’ve been making herbal remedies, balms, and oils for my family, guided by a devotion to natural, non-toxic living. What began as small “lotions and potions” made in my kitchen has grown into a full skincare range rooted in ancestral wisdom, organic ingredients, and deep love.


My professional path has always been about supporting life in its many seasons. I’ve worked as a homebirth midwife, menstrual educator, rites of passage guide, and nurse in aged care – supporting women and families through beginnings, transitions, and the sacred process of dying. These experiences taught me that our bodies deserve reverence at every stage, and that true beauty is found in honouring the natural cycles of life.


Now, at 45, after years of sun-loving outdoor living, I’m noticing the effects of sun-damage on my own skin. This inspired me to create skincare that truly nourishes and restores – not to mask or change, but to support graceful, natural ageing. I believe the lines on our faces tell the stories of our lives, and I’m deeply inspired by women who embody their natural beauty with strength, wisdom, and radiance.


Sēlkyn Tallow was born from this philosophy – to offer pure, organic, tallow-based skincare that supports the body rather than disrupts it. Free from hormone-disrupting chemicals, industrial seed oils, and synthetic fillers, each balm is handmade with integrity in the hinterland of Byron Bay.
