Where Our Tallow Comes From
Our tallow begins its journey with a local organic butcher who sources directly from certified organic farmers in NSW & QLD. These farmers are committed to sustainable and non-toxic practices, raising their animals on clean pasture without harmful chemicals. This means healthier land, healthier animals, and ultimately a healthier product for your skin.
Slow Rendered for Purity and Nutrient Integrity
Once sourced, we take the process into our own hands. At Sēlkyn Tallow, we render the tallow ourselves, using a traditional 'wet rendering' method - a slower and more intentional process that purifies the tallow in a more cosmetically aligned way, to preserve its rich nutrients - vitamins A, D, E, and K, and ensuring the highest possible quality. By doing this in-house, we can guarantee purity and craftsmanship at every stage, which is what sets our products apart. Our tallow feels lighter, absorbs beautifully and is therefore more aligned with the needs of the skin.
