Is beef tallow good for your skin? It's a fair question, and a slightly strange-sounding one the first time you hear it. But the answer sits in simple biology rather than trend or marketing.
Why your skin recognises tallow so easily
Human sebum, the oil your own skin produces, is made up of a similar fatty acid profile to grass-fed beef tallow: oleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, and a naturally occurring dose of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K. Because the structure is so close to what your skin already makes, tallow doesn't sit on top of the skin the way many modern moisturisers do. It's recognised, absorbed, and put to use.
This is the opposite of the "fix it" approach so much of the beauty industry is built on. Tallow isn't correcting anything. It's simply offering the skin something it already knows how to use.
Who tends to find it suits them
We hear from people in every stage of life - new mothers using it on stretch marks and healing skin after birth, women navigating perimenopausal dryness, people managing eczema or a compromised skin barrier, and plenty of people who simply want to know exactly what's in their skincare. Because the formula never changes based on who it's for, it's genuinely one jar for the whole family - safe enough for a newborn's first day and rich enough for a grandmother's.
How to use it
Warm a small amount between your fingertips until it melts into a silky texture, then press it gently into clean skin. It absorbs within about 20 minutes. People with naturally oily skin often need very little; people with dry or depleted skin may want a more generous amount.
What to expect in the first few uses
Tallow can feel rich at first, especially if you're used to lighter, more processed moisturisers. That richness settles as your skin adjusts. If you're new to it, start with a small amount and build from there.
The bigger picture
Beyond the skin benefits, there's something worth naming here: so much of skincare marketing is built on convincing you something is wrong with your skin that needs fixing. Tallow asks a different question entirely - not "how do we correct this," but "what does this skin actually need to be nourished." That's the belief this whole brand is built on.
